Acylation of Benzene is also called Friedel Craft Acylation This reaction involves the introduction of an acyl group in the benzene ring by reacting benzene ring with acyl halide in the presence of anhydrous Lewis acid such as AlX₃, FeX₃ or BX₃ as catalyst.
